Are you confused about all the bodybuilding supplements on the market?

Well, that is not much of a surprise!

There are so many supplements on the market it is easy to see how anyone could become confused.

Below, I will list my favorite workout supplements, and why they are easy choices to add to your healthy diet!

Protein Powder

The first supplement that should be added to your cabinet is a basic protein powder.  This doesn’t need to be whey protein though!

Whey protein is the most commonly used protein powder, and almost every nutrition company makes some form of a whey protein powder.

However, there are a lot of other types of protein powders that you can use.

In my opinion, vegan protein powders work even better than whey protein!

Vegan protein powder will often consist of hemp protein, pea protein, or plant proteins.

Many people have better success with digesting vegan protein than whey protein, and it generally has a better micro-nutrient profile as well.

Regardless, the first supplement you purchase should be some form of protein powder!

Creatine Monohydrate

Aside from whey protein, creatine monohydrate is probably the most widely-used supplement on the market.

The reason for this is that creatine has been studied numerous times and ways, and it has shown to have outstanding benefits.

The leading role for creatine monohydrate is to improve your body’s cellular energy.

When you consistently take creatine monohydrate, you will be able to lift more weight and train longer. It is as simple as that.

Normally speaking, the best way to use creatine monohydrate is to start with taking 5 grams, twice per day for a week.

After your first week of use, you can cut back to only 5 grams totally per day.

After just a week or two of use, you will notice a difference in your body and strength.

When you are using creatine, make sure that you drink enough water per day!  Creatine draws more water in to your muscles, which can dehydrate you if you are not careful.

Typically, the best guideline is to drink 1 gallon of water per day when using creatine monohydrate.

Creatine is a very-well researched supplement, and it should be the second supplement that you decide to purchase.

Branch Chain Amino Acids

Branch chain amino acids (BCAAs) are a group of amino acids which are absorbed by your body far quicker than what you find in your traditional protein powder.

Your traditional whey protein or vegan protein powder probably does contain some amount of BCAAs, but since they are not isolated on their own their absorption rate is slowed.

I rank BCAAs as my 3rd most important supplement to purchase, because they are crucial for muscle recovery.

There are many different BCAA products on the market, but my favorite is AminoLean from RSP Nutrition.

AminoLean contains caffeine as well, so it can be a suitable pre-workout product as well.

Personally, I drink BCAAs at three different points during my day.

I drink them directly upon waking up, about 15 minutes before training, and as soon as I finish training.

The reason for this is that BCAAs are easily digestible by your body, and supply your muscles with rapid protein for recovery, and strength.

Some people drink BCAAs while they are training, but I don’t prefer to do this.

Regardless, BCAAs are a very useful supplement to have in your cabinets!

Fish Oil

Once you have these three supplements with you, there are a lot of supplements I could recommend next.

In my opinion though, fish oil is one of the very most important.

There are tons of benefits for using fish oil, but the main benefits are that it will improve your joints and decrease inflammation throughout your entire body.

Fish oil contains substantial amounts of Omega 3 Fatty Acids, which are necessary for our overall health.

The average diet, especially in Western countries, is high in the dangerous Omega 6 fatty acids.

This comes from eating too many fried foods, and unhealthy foods in general.

Due to this, inflammation-based health issues run rampant in our society.

The easiest fix for this is to include daily fish oil supplements in to your diet.

Especially if you are lifting weights 4-5 times per week (as you should to build mass and lose body fat), your joints are going to take a toll.

Fish oil is an excellent product that can help you improve the health of your joints, heart, and reduce your waistline.

I highly recommend you add it to your supplement cabinet!

There are many more supplements I could recommend to you, but I wouldn’t purchase any others before these.

If you use these guidelines, you will ultimately save yourself money, and be much more efficient at working towards your aesthetic goals!
